Tuesday Ten - Places I Want to Visit

A little over a month ago, I decided to try something a little different.  I started the Tuesday Ten posts and I've really enjoyed doing them.  (You can read about that decision here.)  Originally, I made them blog hops as well.  That aspect, however, has not worked out so well as my attempt to get other bloggers to link up has failed miserably! :(   So, I'm going to keep doing my Tuesday Ten posts, but I am not going to add the blog hop linky for now.  If you would like to link up, you are welcome to grab the"Tuesday Ten" button and add it to your blog.  Let me know if you do this - if enough others start to join, I'll re-institute the linky.  Also, if any other bloggers would be interested in co-hosting the Tuesday Ten as a blog hop, I would welcome the partnership!  Just send me an email or a Fecebook message! Links in the upper right corner of the sidebar.)

Now that we've got all that "business" out of the way, let's get on with this week's Tuesday Ten List!!

As you are already aware, summer vacation is quickly approaching!!  Yay!!!  My kids have 4 weeks of school left; 19 days to be exact, but who's counting?!?!?  Now that our girls are getting a little older which makes traveling a little easier, we are trying to take them somewhere each summer.  We pretty much just pick a city and go.  They are very interested in seeing other places because David travels so much for work.  For this summer, we have narrowed our options and it looks like a trip to Chicago is in our future!  All of this deciding got me thinking about all the places I  would like to go.  Here's my list of ten places I would like to visit:

The Golden Spoons

Ten Places I Would Like to Visit

1.  The Grand Canyon - It is one of the Seven Wonders of the World and it is right here in the good 'ol US of A!!!  I have never seen it and understand that you simply cannot comprehend or appreciate it fully until you have been there, so I definitely have to put this one on my bucket list!

2.  Paris  - O.k. O.k. - I've already been to Paris.  (You can read about that trip here and here.)  It was so wonderful, though, I would love to go back.  There is so much history there and several things we didn't have time to see (Palace of Versailles, River cruise, catacombs).  It was also December when we went, so it was pretty cold and damp.  I would love to go in the spring or summer when the weather is prettier.

3.  Australia - Who doesn't want to go to Australia?!?  The iconic Sydney Opera House, the Great Barrier Reef, the beaches, the wildlife!!  I would love to see it all!!

4.  Venice - This is another place that I think you have to see in person to grasp.  Wouldn't it be great to  ride a gondola down the waterways of the city, taking in the architecture and history??

5. Hawaii - This one really needs no explanation - the beaches, the food - and, I MIGHT actually get a chance to go here on a business trip with my hubby this fall!!  (Fingers Crossed!)

6,  Vegas, Baby! - Believe it or not, I've never been to Las Vegas.  Hubs has to go there several times a year for business and he is not a fan.  If we ever have time to take a trip, I hate to ask him to go somewhere he has already been many, many times AND somewhere he doesn't  particularly like.  But, I want to go there at least once.  Maybe I'll tag along on one of his trips sometime or. . . . Girls' weekend anyone???  (And, no, staying at the Venetian in Vegas does not count as going to Venice!)

7.  California -California and New York are two places that you always see on T.V., in movies, in magazines, etc.  I've been to NYC a few times and it's different when you actually experience it.   I assume California would be, too.  So, I'd like to go there - Los Angeles, San Fransisco, San Diego - I'll take any of it or all of it!  It's a 3,000 mile trip for this NC girl, though!

8.  Rome - Like Paris and Venice, Rome is so full of history and architecture and art.  It is just somewhere I would love to see.

9.  Niagra Falls - Like the Grand Canyon, it is one of the Wonders of the World that is partly in the USA and a place you cannot fathom, really, until you see it.

10. Beaches - I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of NC and I love the mountains.  They bring me comfort because they feel like home.  However, I also love the beach.  There is something peaceful and calming about the crashing waves and the breeze on your face.  I would love to experience the beauty of some of the world's best beaches.  Through a little quick research, it seems these are always listed as some of the best: Seychelles, Maldives, Tahiti, Turks and Caicos, and Grand Cayman.  I don't expect to see them all, but hopefully I can make it to a couple before I'm gone! :-)

There you go!  My bucket list of places to see before I die.  Hopefully, when I look back at this from my rocking chair when I'm old and gray, I'll be able to say I saw them all!!

How about you?  Have you been to any of these places?  Are there other "must-see" places I should add to my list?  If you could go anywhere right now, where would it be??  Leave me a comment and let me know!
