Tuesday Ten - My Purse Inside Out

Last week's Tuesday Ten was a bit of a heavier topic, but one that really got us thinking.  I think this week it will be super fun because we are turning our purses upside down and sharing what's inside!  After looking in mine, I realize that the contents of a purse can tell you a lot about a person!  So, here's what fell out when I turned mine upside down:

  1. My wallet - Plain and brown, but stuffed to the gills with cards, pictures, and change.  I rarely have much cash, though.
  2. First Aid Kit - I use this make-up case as a first aid container.  It's got band-aids, Neosporin, Benadryl cream, fingernail clippers, nail files, medicine, and Tide pen!  Yeah, I'm a mom.
  3. Hand Sanitizer - For when dirty hands need a quick clean!
  4. Keys - These happen to be the keys to my church (one "perk" of my job).  If I'm out and about, you would also find my personal keys that I keep on this huge keychain my sister in law gave me so I can find them more easily in the depths of my purse.
  5. Lotion - Because it's winter and I have terribly dry skin and hands.
  6. A crayon - As I said, I'm a mom!
  7. Receipts - I am terrible about shoving receipts and papers into my purse.
  8. An earring - My youngest was wearing these somewhere one day.  They are clip-ons that belonged to David's grandmother. They were hurting her ears so she took them off and I dropped them in my purse.  (The other one was in there somewhere.  It just didn't fall out.)
  9. Mints - Because I like onions. Also, no matter how much I make them brush their teeth, my kids have incredibly stinky breath!
  10. Pony Tail Holder - Because I have long hair and three daughters with long hair!
As you can see, there was also gum and Kleenex.  A pen, an empty pack of gum, and a bunch of crumbs also fell out.  Usually, my iPhone would fall out, too, but I was at home and it was on my desk charging!

If you turn your purse upside down, what would fall out???

  1. Believe it or not my pocketbook is not that bad, but like you my makeup case does double for a first aid kit, too :)

  2. I've been known to have earrings in my purse too! I love how my purse becomes my kids' storage area. And I totally forgot my keys. I keep them right by the door so they aren't in my purse when I'm at home. Fun topic this week!

  4. I only remembered because I have that second set for work that I do keep in my purse. Glad you linked up this week!

  5. This topic was definitely a fun one this week. It was also helpful as it got me to clean out my purse - though I ended up putting just about everything back into it - because I carry a lot of the same items that you do ... and I consider them all necessary. :)

Great list! When my kids were young, I carried a much larger purse, and had a LOT more "stuff" I carried around.

  9. Ha! Would love for you to link up, but completely understand if you can't. We are out of school AGAIN today for ice and my kids are completely being couch potatoes while I do some other things!

  10. love the purse content theme. If I turned mine over it would be one big storm of blowing receipts. My purse doubles as a trash can.

  11. Mine usually has a lot more papers and receipts. I think I had just thrown several away the day before I did this!

  12. Heheh, love the picture. What IS it with kids haveing brushed teeth and still having stinky breath? I have the same problem!

  13. What is it with kids and stinky breath?? Although Des still has sweet baby breath no matter what he eats. And he eats some adventurous foods, but not onions! They're barely allowed in my house!

  14. Doesn't matter what my kids eat. In fact, my youngest has the worst breath and she is super picky, so she eats very little - certainly no onions or anything spicy. I thought she was brushing her teeth pretty well, but found out yesterday she has 2 cavities, so maybe not!

  15. I did do a post once about what was in my diaper bag. It was pretty surprising to see how many variations of hand sanitizer I was carrying around! :)

  16. I had to laugh cuz I have a crap ton of receipts in my purse too. I always forget to throw them out! You remind me that I need to carry mints.

  17. Hahaha..... I had to laugh, I don't have ten things in my purse, the wallet on the other hand if stuffed full..... Have the wallet, gum and an odd thing from the 11 y/o, there is always something from her crammed in there, and of course the teens wallet because she always forgets it so it lives in my purse.

  18. I used to have a ton of crayons in my purse, but no crayons fell out of my purse today! I wonder where they all went? :)

  19. Ha! I was actually surprised how "clean" mine was. just lucky this time, I guess!

  20. I usually have more receipts and papers than that. I think I hd just thrown away a wad of them a couple days before!

  21. Oy - if I had to dump out my wallet? There are so many different cards in there I don't even know what they all go to!

  22. Hmmm.. the disappearing purse crayons! :-)

  23. Uhhhh, that's a very clean purse. Mine's a mess. All sorts of things would fall out: tissues, cough drops, coupons, crumbs, nuts, all sorts of things. Congrats on such a clean purse.

  25. You actually have a very neat purse! I didn't even empty mine, but your topic gave me an idea for a post, which I'm sharing!

  26. I love the crayon! That's such a mom thing to have in your purse! Who knows, if you're stuck somewhere and the girls are bored they can take turns drawing pictures on the back of your receipts!!
