  1. It does go by so fast, doesn't it? My baby just took the SATs this weekend. I just took them, didn't I? Jeez.

I haven't exactly played by the rules - if I can't get inspired by a word, I just write and end up sticking a word in there somewhere. I know it's not what you had in mind, but at least the prompts are prompting me to write!

  2. I love your post, Lisa and that quote! Life certainly does fly by in the wink on an eye. Tomorrow I'll be packing and leave the following day to go meet and visit my new Great Niece. Doesn't seem so long ago at all that I held her mother in my arms when she was a newborn. Seems like I just blinked and 27 years flew by.

  3. A blink of an eye, to be sure. Seems like just yesterday I was rocking my sweet boy to sleep, but the calendar tells me he turned 14 last month. Now his voice is changing and my heart clenches each time I hear it.

  4. Yes! I know it will be gone too soon, so I am definitely trying to enjoy it as much as possible.

  5. There are no rules, really! If it is in any way encouraign you to write, then that's all that matters! Sometimes, trying to insert a particular word into a somewhat unrealted post can be just as challenging as writng an entire post based soley on that word!

  7. Ah I struggled this week, too. I think it's the week (definitely not the words!). But I do love that quote. We've still got the naps and sippy cups here but I see us hurtling towards the day when all of that is gone and I still cannot believe how fast it all goes by.

  8. As I said, my oldest daughter will be 13 this year. It really is hard to believe!

  9. Hopefully, it is just a slight case of the winter doldrums and we'll both get over it quickly! It really does all go by so fast!

  10. There times when I wish that there's a pause button! But then we might not cherish these moments the way we do now.

  11. Hi Lisa, I'm totally bummed that I missed this weeks link up! I always link up on Thursday nights (New Zealand). Here is my post for this weeks 1 Word Challenge if you would like to have a look ;) http://teacherbytrade-motherbynature.blogspot.co.nz/2015/01/missing-piece-of-puzzle-1-word-challenge.html

  12. Hey Charlene! Sorry about the mix-up. When I set up the link up I inadvertently set it to open and close on the same day! Glad you let me know so I could fix it and get you added!

  13. I wrote a post around Halloween and I needed a picture of a sippy cup under a bed. It was a strange realization that I didn't actually have any more sippy cups in my house! My youngest will turn 5 and start school this year. It really is like taking a full step into a new parenting stage!

  14. Very true, Lisa! Time just flies once you have kids. I've been having the same thoughts since my son will be starting preschool this year, and in my mind he's still a baby :)

  15. Love this Lisa. I'm going to my 20th reunion this year too. it really does go by so fast.

  16. Right?? My niece just turned one and the last time she was over here I told my girls to take her out in the the playroom and find her some toys. Then, I realized - we don't really have any toys anymore. My youngest is 7 and doesn't even play with anything but her Barbies and dollhouse really. We definitely don't have anything appropriate for a toddler!

  17. They will always be our babies, I think - even when they are 30! :-)

  18. Yep! I'm not sure if I want to go to my 20th, but we'll see!

  19. THANK YOU :) :) Great to be a part of the link up!! :)

This is wonderful, Lisa. I've got a few years on you (although my son is young), and I hate to say it but it does just keep going faster and faster. But, I really believe that in every stage, there are things we will miss and adore that are unique to it.

  21. I find that it gets faster as I get older. I always thought I had so much time, even when Scarlet was a baby! It wasn't until Des was born that I started to understand why they say to enjoy it because it goes so fast.

  22. I agree Kristi. Sometimes, I do miss cuddling with tiny babies or watching a toddler dance. But, there are things I don't miss, too. This current stage has some of both as well!

  23. As mine get older it seems to go faster. Sometimes, the days go so slowly, but I blink and the school year is done. It's crazy!

  24. It seems that the older my children get, the faster the days go by. I'm ready to declare no extra-curricular activities so that our days slow down a bit LOL!!

This was lovely Lisa. Soak it all in... it does go by quickly and we have to enjoy the hear and now.
    xoxo
