Chocolate Heaven

Hopefully, you have already entered the HUGE Mother’s Day giveaway from the authors of The Mother of All Meltdowns.  Just in case you are hesitating, though, click here to check out the incredible prize packages.

One Grand Prize winner will get a trip for two to a destination spa!!

And . . .   All three lucky winners will get some amazing chocolate from Chuao Choclatier.

Some of us who contributed to the book were lucky enough to get a sample of the chocolate.

I got home one afternoon from picking up my girls from school and found a smallish box on the front porch.  When I saw the label, I knew there was chocolate inside and, needless to say, I was excited.  That was only the beginning, though.  When we opened the box, this is what we found.

That’s four bars of chocolate!!

Now, I know what you are thinking - Potato Chip???  Popcorn???  Truthfully, we thought the same thing.  It seemed, well, weird.

My girls were buzzing with excitement, though.  My hubby heard them and came down from his office.  We decided we just had to try it.  The Potato Chip bar was at the unanimous first choice.  We were all very skeptical, but were pleasantly surprised.  In fact, it was absolutely delicious!!  It was such a rich, smooth milk chocolate that had a salty flavor and a little crunch.  Between the five of us, that bar of chocolate was gone in a flash!  Everyone loved it.

Later, after supper, we decided to sample some more.  We chose to give the Popcorn a try next.  Again, I was a little skeptical, but the delicious Potato Chip bar had boosted my confidence that this one would be yummy, too.  It was!!  Again, it was smooth milk chocolate.  It had just a hint of saltiness and it actually pops in your mouth!!!  There is something in it reminiscent of Pop Rocks and, as you let the decadent chocolate melt in your mouth, you can hear and feel them popping!  It was incredible and my kids thought it was super fun.

We tried the Pretzel Toffee Twirl next.  My youngest was not a big fan because this one was dark chocolate.  That’s o.k., though, because I would gladly eat her portion!!  I was so delicious.  The bite of the bitter dark chocolate coupled withe the saltiness of the pretzel and a little crunch of sweet toffee was heavenly!

Finally, we tried the Sweet and Salty.  Dare I say we saved the best for last??  This one was that same smooth, dreamy milk chocolate mixed ever so slightly with delicate sea salt.  It was a home run for me.

I am not kidding you guys - this was some of the best chocolate I have ever had!  My only complaint is that they didn’t send me one of every bar they make!!  Upon visiting their website and conversing on Facebook with other lucky taste testers, I discovered they also make bars such as Orange-a-go-go, Rocky Road, Maple Bacon, Honeycomb, and Firecracker just to name a few.  They all sound absolutely delightful and I cannot wait to try more of them.

Go to Chuao Chocolatier’s website and see for yourself!!  It would make a great Mother’s Day Gift because, well, C-H-O-C-O-L-A-T-E!!  It would also be great for other holiday celebrations like birthdays or Christmas.  My husband has already decide that this is what his customers will be receiving as Christmas gifts this year.  These intriguing flavors are so much fun, and, who doesn’t love chocolate??

I would have never thought of the popcorn one, although we love eating popcorn and m&m's together, so it makes sense!

You were the first person to have the popcorn pop one! Excited to hear about it. I'm strictly a milk chocolate person - I have little use for dark and white, although for the sake of this, I would have tried it! I dropped the ball on reviewing these and I will be paying a LOT more attention from now on.

I'm a white chocolate or gummy person but am getting a little jealous because popcorn and chocolate? One of my favorite treats at the movies is getting popcorn and dumping milkduds into it. YUM.
